INTRODUCTION
Modern neurootology is not only a discipline of a modern and very sophisticated diagnostics in cases suffering from vertigo, nausea, dystaxia, disorientation, hearing loss, tinnitus, etc., but in as much a medical speciality with a great knowledge about a differentiated spectrum of therapies for a broad variety of disorders afflicting the human sensorial performance amongst millions of patients.
The modern methods for measuring disorders in hearing are named audiometry, for measuring diseases in the field of equilibrium together with the symptoms of vertigo, nausea, giddiness and instability are called equilibriometry.
For therapeutical purposes the most important therapy nowadays is the pharmacotherapy with oral chemical medication; but this therapy can also be applied by injections and infusions. Due to the knowledge, which is achieved by the differential neurootometric diagnostics about the site of the lesions within the central nervous system being responsible for the various disorders together with vertigo, nausea, tinnitus, hearing loss, taste disorders and smell disorders we now can target the therapy more concisely to correct the underlying functional deviations.
NEUROOTOLOGICAL AND EQUILIBRIOMETRIC SOCIETY REG.
The aims of the association are:
- To promote clinical practice in neurootology and in the field of clinical research.
- To train doctors and paramedical staff interested in this field in implemeting neurootological diagnosis, focusing special attention to prove functional equilibrium.
- To standardize clinical methods of research.
- To create functional anthropometrics standards.
- To develop principles for employee recruitment in the field where functional strain particularly affects the neurootological functioning of the senses.
- To enable participation, with the support of neurootological and medical advice, in the development of new transport technology where disorientation strain occurs.
- To develop therapeutic forms in the field of neurootology.
Eligible candidates for membership must be physicians or technicians interested in this field,regardiess of their nationality.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
This Congress will provide a comprehensive update of the diagnostic and treatment of the Neurootological diseases or symptoms such as vertigo, equilibrium disturbances, tinnitus, sensori-neural hipoacusia and, also, gustometry and olfactometry.
